A lifetime of schnauzers
My journey with schnauzers began as a child in elementary school. My best friend had two mini’s, Abby and Cinders. I begged my parents for a salt and pepper to no avail. Time passed as it does, and at 18 I moved into my apartment. A good friend of mine had 2 salt& peppers, Rupert and Ross. I became their “auntie.” Unfortunately, my friend was sick and passed. He asked me to care for them as mine, and I did. My family fell in love with them and several family members also brought schnauzers into their homes. Rupert and Ross will always be my “heart” dogs. It’s been a lifetime of schnauzers ever since. I’ve never not owned a schnauzer!
My schooling includes a BS in Animal Science with an emphasis in pre-veterinary studies. I also have a masters degree in the sciences. I began breeding schnauzers back in my college days in 1992. Back then we were breeding to “breed standard,” but technology and science wasn’t where it is today. These days, we’re able to learn so much and breed for temperament, and health to a much higher standard. Since college I’ve continued to remain educated through several webinars, courses and even a veterinary assistance program.
Scientific advancements are incredible- DNA allows us to match optimal sires to dams. It’s not just about finding a pup that has had DNA and OFA testing; It’s finding a pup whose breeder can understand the science and find the most optimal matches to create a happy, healthy puppy using these new tools. At 51, it truly has been a lifetime of learning and love for the schnauzer breeds. I can’t imagine a life without them!
It is my hope that our pups will bring you the joy and pure love that they have brought to mine. They love unconditionally with all that they are.
